Facelift surgery |
A facelift (rhytidectomy) can't stop the natural aging process. It can, however, "set back the clock," improving the most visible signs of aging by removing excess fat, tightening underlying muscles, and redraping the skin of your face and neck. A facelift can be done alone, or in conjunction with other procedures such as a forehead lift, eyelid surgery, or nose reshaping.
Risks & complications of facelift surgery
We do our best to minimise the risks by choosing the high-standard hospitals, experienced plastic surgeons, physicians and nurses. However, complications still rarely happen.
Possible complications from facelift surgery are:
- hematoma: a collection of blood under the skin that must be removed by the surgeon
- injury to the nerves that control facial muscles (usually temporary)
- infection
- reactions to the anesthesia
- poor healing of the skin is most likely to affect smokers
Recommended length of vacation after facelift surgery
10 - 14 days after surgery.
